All started on a summer morning.
I was an ambitious 19 year old girl with many future choices.
In fact, the choice was simple. Continued my studies or travelling around the world. I never really found my place at school after stopping dancing everyday (but that’s another story..). So it was with determination, I took my first airplane ticket, heading to the southern hemisphere to Australia.
Here I am, alone on the airplane. I realized quickly a new life is gonna start when I will put the first step on the Australian ground. I knew already I will never stop travel.
Since of this time, I never stop. I live like a “nomadic” by myself with my diabetes. I go to the country, I work there, discover, explore, meet, learn and go back to a new destination.
I had this chance to live in Sydney, London, Calgary or Melbourne. I watched a game of All Blacks vs South Africa for free in New Zealand, glimpses of the northern lights in Iceland, or even wander Ocean drive in Miami. Sounds pretty awesome isn’t ?
Traveling takes a big place in my life. I travel with only my backpack, my diabetes and my good mood. You get It, I am diabetic. I am a type 1 diabetic since the age of 12 with 4 injections a day without counting the tests of my blood sugar. Since this disease is not easy to manage on a daily basis, I take up the challenge of showing you that anything is possible, when you really want it.
→ If you wish to know more about me, I invite you to read Chapter I, Chapter II, Chapter III, Chapter IV.“We have two lives and the second begins when you realize we have only one”
This blog does not only talk about me, it also speaks about you. It’s a way to tell everything. Galleys and good plans. The favorites or bad things. Let’s show together that we can live with diabetes and do great things.
“If I can travel, what about you? “
It was during my trip to London, I had this chance to meet Léa. Thanks to her, this blog “The adventures of Mathilde” was born. Léa is the designer of the blog, I am very happy, she is on my adventures.
